Mission
Research and promotion of the forest, as well as neighboring or related properties or areas, primarily in the region. "Forest" is understood in the broadest sense, encompassing, for example, zoological, botanical, or biological relationships, as well as silvicultural issues, training, and continuing education for individuals or institutions involved with the forest, etc. The forest is also a subject of art and poetry and is included in the foundation's purpose in this sense. The foundation may also award grants for outstanding achievements.
The Spitzenflühli Foundation, established in 2005, is a traditional grant-making foundation based in Basel.
The focus of its funding activities is the forest. This also includes neighboring or related properties or areas. Projects are primarily supported in the Northwest Switzerland region.
The foundation supports projects that deal with the forest in both the strict sense and the broader sense. This includes, on the one hand, zoological, botanical, and ecological relationships, and on the other hand, silvicultural issues as well as initial, advanced, and continuing education. The forest as a subject of art and poetry is thus included in the foundation's purpose. Support is provided to individuals as well as institutions.
