Promoting all animal welfare concerns by supporting efforts to improve animal husbandry and to protect animals from painful and torturous influences, by educating the public, especially young people, about the appropriate treatment of animals, by running animal shelters, by informing members and public relations work, by working with the cantonal and municipal authorities responsible for animal welfare, by participating in the drafting of laws and regulations relating to the protection and conservation of animals, by making political advances in animal welfare matters, by protecting and representing the interests of injured animals in criminal and administrative proceedings relevant to animal welfare, by awarding awards to people who have made a special contribution to animal welfare.
