Mission
The purpose of the foundation is to: Preserve the property brought in by the Paul Klee Foundation, the donation from Livia Klee and all other works of art and other objects donated, purchased or made available on loan - in particular from Alexander Klee. The maintenance of the cultural heritage of Paul Klee through the operation including ensuring the building maintenance of the Zentrum Paul Klee including the research facility in Schöngrün (Bern). The operation of a "children's museum" based on Paul Klee's didactic work and promoting new forms of communication for both children and adults. Specifically, the aim of the foundation is: to create the best possible conditions for a creative encounter and discussion of the work, life and cultural environment of Paul Klee and the arts related to his work (music, literature, theater, dance and the like); to give members of all sections of the population access to the work of Paul Klee; to increase the attractiveness of Bern as a business location with cultural and scientific programs based on international standards; to encourage encounters with the work of contemporary artists related to Paul Klee; to operate a publicly accessible research facility with image and text archives, a library, a media library and an expert service; to set up and implement scientific research and publication programs; to ensure the conservation measures, safety precautions and insurance that are customary for corresponding works of art and archive material in museums, libraries and archives.
