The foundation's purpose is to provide one-time or recurring grants to people who have fallen into hardship through no fault of their own, primarily those with ties to the Canton of Zurich, and to support charitable institutions that care for such individuals. Particular attention is given to the elderly in need, as well as physically or mentally disabled young people and adults living in modest circumstances. Furthermore, the foundation may approve requests for support from upstanding individuals and families whose lives could be alleviated and improved through financial contributions.
