The German Postcode Lottery is a private, state-licensed social lottery. We firmly believe that the world benefits from strong nonprofit organizations. Our mission is to create long-term funding for important and courageous projects and to make our participants and the public aware of their work

We stand up for people and nature. The German Postcode Lottery supports projects by non-profit organizations throughout Germany in the areas of equal opportunities, nature and environmental protection and social cohesion.

Your project must comply with our funding guidelines, contain the most innovative approach possible and add value for our society, environment or nature.

We only support projects with a focus on these three areas:

Social cohesion

• Projects against child poverty, poverty in old age and loneliness

• Help for refugees

• Promotion of social participation of disadvantaged children

• Cross-generational community projects

• Projects to promote understanding of democracy

• Support for single parents

Equal opportunity

• Sustainable education and integration projects for people with a refugee or migration background
• Educational opportunities for needy children and young people
• Promotion of diversity and protection against discrimination, anti-Semitism & racism

Nature and environmental protection

• Environmental and climate protection projects

• Protection and preservation of biodiversity including environmental education

• Preservation and promotion of the diversity of ecosystems

• Promotion of organic farming and animal welfare

• Renewable energies and renewable raw materials

• Recycling and upcycling projects, urban gardening projects
