Fondation Auguste Veillon

The foundation aims to perpetuate the memory and work of the painter Auguste Veillon (1834-1890) by all means it deems useful. In particular, it sets itself the following objectives: to set up an Auguste Veillon museum in the building located in Cully (commune of Bourg-en-Lavaux), 7, route de Lausanne; to permanently exhibit works by the artist and his contemporaries; to organize temporary thematic exhibitions in connection; to compose a collection which will include, in addition to the works bequeathed by the late Jacqueline Veillon, emblematic works from each period of the artist, covering different places where he worked in Switzerland and the Middle East. This collection may be expanded with works on loan or by donation; to undertake research work concerning the painter, among other things to establish a catalogue raisonné of his works, as well as research on his biography and his artistic relationships with the painters of his time, and analyses of his work. The foundation may also support research submitted to it by independent researchers. It is not intended to be a profit-making endeavor.
