Foundation for Global Partnership for Education

The Foundation is not-for-profit. The sole purpose of the Foundation is to support the mission, vision, goals, and objectives of the Global Partnership for Education (GPE), as updated in its periodic strategic plans, including, but not limited to, financial support for: (a) Education as a public good, a human right, and an enabler of other rights. (b) Ensuring learning, equity, and inclusion for the most marginalized children and youth, including those affected by fragility and conflict. (c) Achieving gender equality. (d) Fostering inclusive, evidence-based policy dialogue involving national governments, donors, civil society, teachers, philanthropy, foundations, and the private sector. (e) Provide support that promotes country ownership and nationally identified priorities (Switzerland) and is linked to country performance in improving equity and learning. (f) Improve development effectiveness by harmonizing and aligning aid to country systems. (g) Promote mutual accountability and transparency within the partnership. (h) Act to realize the benefits of an inclusive partnership as the most effective way to achieve development results. In fulfilling its purpose, the Foundation acts to support GPE's strategic plans to promote: (a) Greater development effectiveness and more effective aid for education. (b) Sound education sector policies. (c) Adequate and sustainable domestic financing (Switzerland) for education. (d) Sustained increases in aid to education. (e) Increased accountability for sector results.
