Mission

JRF is an independent social change organisation working to solve UK poverty. It aims to inspire action andchange that will create a prosperous UK without poverty and it principally does this by undertakingresearch, producing or inputting into policy on poverty, collaborating with others working to the samepurpose and otherwise providing practical solutions.

1.1 TO PREVENT AND TO RELIEVE POVERTY AND OTHER NECESSITOUS CIRCUMSTANCES1.2 TO RELIEVE THOSE IN NEED BECAUSE OF YOUTH, AGE, ILL-HEALTH (WHETHER MENTAL OR PHYSICAL), DISABILITY, FINANCIAL HARDSHIP OR OTHER DISADVANTAGE1.3 TO UNDERTAKE AND CARRY ON SUCH ACTIVITIES AS ARE CALCULATED TO AMELIORATE UNSATISFACTORY LIVING CONDITIONS, SOCIAL UNREST OR DISHARMONY AMONGST THE PUBLIC 1.4 TO PROVIDE OR ASSIST IN THE PROVISION OF FACILITIES FOR RECREATION OR OTHER LEISURE TIME OCCUPATION IN THE INTERESTS OF SOCIAL WELFARE FOR THE PUBLIC AT LARGE.NOTHING IN THESE ARTICLES SHALL AUTHORISE AN APPLICATION OF THE PROPERTY OF THE CHARITY FOR PURPOSES WHICH ARE NOT CHARITABLE IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 7 OF THE CHARITIES AND TRUSTEE INVESTMENT (SCOTLAND) ACT 2005 AND/OR SECTION 2 OF THE CHARITIES ACT (NORTHERN IRELAND) 2008.
