Gais Cultural Stage has a rich history. It is the former "Neue Lesegesellschaft Gais." Its roots go back to the "Lesegesellschaft Gais," which was founded in 1854 and was active until 1950.

A few culture enthusiasts reactivated the association in 2000 and began building a rich cultural program as the "Neue Lesegesellschaft Gais (NLG)."

Gais Cultural Stage, with its "Curious, Lively, Limitless" slogan, has been in existence since fall 2014 and, on the one hand, reflects the organizer's motto; on the other, the initials "NLG" form a bridge to the former "Neue Lesegesellschaft Gais." The stylized face emphasizes that the focus is on people—whether as listeners or participants.

The association currently has over 200 members and defines "culture" openly. The offerings are broad. The (cultural) stage offers:
