Protecting nature by supporting measures to preserve a natural environment for humans and animals, in particular promoting scientific research in the field of human-animal relations, especially through the financing and critical monitoring of academic institutions such as chairs and institutes with particular consideration of animal welfare; managing projects and supporting measures to combat animal suffering and to preserve endangered species; recognizing special achievements in this area; helping needy, sick, and orphaned children through direct contributions or by supporting appropriate public or charitable institutions.
