Mission
The primary purpose of the foundation is the acquisition, preservation, protection, maintenance, and careful development of the historic, listed properties of the Parkhotel Margna on parcels 2443 and 2286 in Sils im Engadin, taking into account the principles of historic preservation. To this end, the foundation may, in particular: carry out or finance structural measures for the conservation, restoration, or renovation of the buildings; inform the public about the historical and architectural significance of the property and facilitate access within the scope of the foundation's purpose; manage the properties and lease them to third parties for a fee for the operation of a hotel or for other purposes, provided this serves the protection and long-term preservation of the properties; take out loans and encumber the properties; cooperate with authorities, specialist institutions, owners, cultural organizations, or historic preservation offices; and acquire, hold, and dispose of investments. Furthermore, the foundation may – subsidiarily – advocate for the preservation of other historically or architecturally significant cultural assets, insofar as this is compatible with its primary purpose. The foundation pursues exclusively charitable goals and is not profit-oriented.
