The purpose of the foundation is: to support children with cancer and their families in defending and representing their interests in the private, public and financial spheres, especially children who are treated in the Regio Basiliensis; Alignment of contributions towards the treatment and care costs of children with cancer as well as the additional costs incurred in connection with the illness for the families, insofar as these are not covered by insurance benefits; Arranging accommodation options for family members during inpatient or outpatient treatment; Promotion of psychosocial help; Support for the rehabilitation of children with cancer and their families; Opportunity to fulfill last wishes of children with cancer; Funding of treatment-related purchases related to childhood cancer; Contribution to education, information and prevention in connection with cancer diseases in childhood; Promotion of training and further education in the medical, psychosocial and nursing fields that serve children with cancer; Support for projects at the UKBB that improve the quality of life of children with cancer and their families; Support of research projects related to childhood cancer. Financial contributions can also be made to other organizations that pursue similar goals. In special cases, corresponding contributions can also be made in connection with other long-lasting serious illnesses in children.
