The purpose of the foundation is to provide contributions for the education or advancement of young people who are physically disabled due to birth, accident or illness and who live in the canton of Bern. Donations from the foundation are made voluntarily at the discretion of the foundation board. Individual beneficiaries have no legal claim to the foundation's assets or its income.

This purpose is fulfilled for natural persons if one or more of the following disabilities are present:

a) physical disabilities, such as - cerebral palsy - paraplegia - polio - consequences of a stroke - muscular diseases

b) sensory disabilities, such as - blindness - visual impairment - hearing impairment - speech impairment

c) neurological diseases, such as - multiple sclerosis

d) rheumatic diseases e) ADD, attention deficit disorder (formerly POS), ADHD f) autism g) other physical disabilities and multiple disabilities

The foundation's funds are intended to go to young people (up to and including 30 years of age) with disabilities and to provide direct benefits for disadvantaged people. The foundation's activities are geographically limited to people living in the canton of Bern. The foundation also provides grants to projects. The foundation generally supports a project for a maximum period of 2-3 years and seeks direct support for young people with disabilities and not the assumption of infrastructure costs.

Grants to institutions are possible for projects for and with people with disabilities or their relatives (parents).
