Mission
Epi-Suisse supports and promotes through suitable measures: improving the quality of life of people with epilepsy, in particular by improving knowledge of the psychosocial aspects of epilepsy and their scientific research; promoting the personality development of those affected and their integration into the social environment; support for those affected in school, training and work; the promotion of contacts between interested persons for mutual support and for the exchange of experiences in regional groups in all parts of the country; the provision of services for those affected and their relatives, in particular also offers for families of children and young people with epilepsy; disseminating information about epilepsy and promoting understanding of epilepsy and its consequences for those affected; representing psychosocial epilepsy issues to national and international organizations; Maintaining contacts with other national and international organizations and professional societies. Epi-Suisse also has the function of an umbrella organization. As such, she is the contact person for the Federal Social Insurance Office (BSV) in the non-medical area. It concludes a service contract with the FSIO within the meaning of Art. 74 IVG - private disability assistance. Epi-Suisse does not pursue any commercial purposes and does not aim for profit. Epi-Suisse is a member of the international Bureau for Epilepsy (IBE) and represents its section in Switzerland. Epi-Suisse works with the Swiss League against Epilepsy (SLgE) and other organizations that promote the association's purposes.
