The purpose of the foundation is to: promote further training, research and treatment in the field of orthopedic surgery, in particular through documentation and evaluation of treatment results; To promote basic research in connection with the musculoskeletal system in the broadest sense; to support hospitals and clinics with a department for orthopedic surgery as well as other medical and social institutions that deal with disorders of the musculoskeletal system and with the treatment and rehabilitation of patients suffering from them; To promote the establishment and operation of research institutes in the field of orthopedic surgery and related sciences through financial aid; To promote and support everything that was mentioned in the above paragraphs on orthopedic surgery, also with regard to surgery and medicine in general, i.e. to take a holistic, comprehensive, cross-disciplinary perspective; To be equally active in the fields of surgery and medicine in general; Support in training in orthopedic surgery as well as the care of affected people at home and abroad. Within the scope of its purpose, the foundation can work with other foundations with related objectives at home and abroad and also support their work with financial contributions.
