Mission
The foundation's efforts are based on the conviction that social change, environmental protection and the protection of all sentient beings are only possible if processes of cognition take place in consciousness at the same time, which change our understanding of ourselves in relation to the world.
This explains the three pillars of the foundation:
EDUCATION Promotion of mental training as the basis of all committed action
HUMAN RIGHTS Promotion of non-violence and social justice
ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION Promoting the preservation of our earth and its biodiversity
**OBJECTIVES OF I N T E R S E A N F I F T I N G **
- Promotion of education, especially mindfulness practice and mind training in the sense of Buddhist teachings
- Promotion of non-violence, international understanding and tolerance in religion, culture and society
- Promotion of science and research, in particular neuroscientific meditation and mindfulness research, through e.g. symposia, conferences and lecture events
- Promotion of assistance to victims of human rights violations, in particular through projects that address all forms of human rights violations committed against women because of their membership in the female gender
- Promotion of nature, species and environmental protection through the maintenance, creation and improvement of the livelihoods of a species-rich flora and fauna, in particular through areas purchased, leased or managed specifically for this purpose
- Promotion of animal welfare, particularly through projects that work against factory farming, animal testing and other suffering inflicted on animals
- Promotion of development cooperation, in particular through projects that enable long-term help for self-help, for example through the promotion of aid programs to improve the income, nutrition and housing situation of disadvantaged women in developing countries
