The purpose of the foundation is to provide assistance to residents or citizens of Stein am Rhein who have fallen into financial hardship; to small businesses with a business premises in Stein am Rhein in extraordinary situations for which the small businesses are not responsible, subsidiary to the benefit claims of small businesses against third parties, provided the aid helps to prevent residents of Stein am Rhein from falling into financial hardship. To make contributions to measures for the preservation and beautification of the traditional townscape of Stein am Rhein and the municipal museums. To provide scholarships or other contributions to the education and training of apprentices, middle school students, students and researchers from all faculties who have been resident in Stein am Rhein for at least two years prior to submitting the scholarship or contribution application. To provide donations to non-profit, charitable and cultural associations, institutions and organizations in the canton of Schaffhausen, particularly in Stein am Rhein. To ensure that the foundation's funds are used effectively and not fragmented, the Board of Trustees is not obligated to support all four purposes equally. Rather, it may, at its sole discretion, place emphasis on individual purposes and, within the framework of the foundation's purpose, definitively determine the foundation's benefits with the greatest possible freedom. The beneficiaries have no legal entitlement to foundation benefits.
