The foundation is an independent, non-profit umbrella foundation. By pooling philanthropic capital, it offers individuals and legal entities the opportunity to effectively pursue their charitable goals according to the principles of cost-efficient funding. The foundation advises, manages, and oversees legally independent private foundations as well as dependent foundations and funds. The foundation promotes non-profit, tax-exempt, or tax-qualified organizations, works, and projects in humanitarian, cultural, environmental, scientific, and other charitable fields in a selfless and transparent manner. It may also support individual, clearly defined charitable projects of taxable organizations. Its scope of activity is not subject to any material or geographical restrictions, provided this is compatible with its recognition as a tax-exempt, non-profit foundation. The foundation does not pursue commercial purposes and does not aim to generate profit. The foundation is politically and religiously neutral. The foundation may develop all activities, including investing in real estate or other tangible assets, that directly or indirectly serve its purpose. It can act directly and independently within the scope of its stated purpose. It can establish and operate other legal entities or merge with them, provided this is compatible with the foundation's purpose. It communicates its activities publicly.
