Mission
The foundation's purpose is to operate, further develop, and sustainably secure the Wohnform Plus laboratory as an independent platform for practice, testing, development, and expertise in barrier-free, inclusive, and future-oriented living spaces. It specifically promotes the self-determination, participation, and quality of life of people with disabilities. To this end, it enables people with disabilities to access innovative products, technologies, and services and supports their practical testing, application, and further development. The foundation develops, tests, supports, facilitates, and promotes innovations, particularly in the areas of assistive technologies, artificial intelligence, digital aids, wearables, smart home and sensor solutions, smart eyewear systems, communication and orientation aids, and other technical and digital applications that improve the inclusion, mobility, safety, communication, and autonomy of people with disabilities. To achieve its purpose, the foundation may operate the laboratory itself, conduct pilot projects and real-world tests, document and publish findings, provide training and consulting services, organize events, enter into collaborations with companies, universities, health and social institutions, and public authorities, initiate its own projects, and promote and support projects of third parties. The foundation operates throughout Switzerland and may also operate abroad. The foundation is a non-profit organization and does not seek to generate profit.
